If you’re struggling with complex trauma (C-PTSD), we can help. Our mental health treatment programs are designed to support you as you safely address trauma, build healthy coping mechanisms, and live a confident, fulfilled life.
Our team of licensed clinicians are ready to guide you through your healing.
You can feel better, and you deserve to.
Our IOP runs 3 days a week for 3 hours a day. It typically lasts for 12 weeks but can be extended to 20 weeks. The program includes:
Our IOP for C-PTSD means that you can receive high-quality treatment and still return home in the evening.
Complex trauma, sometimes called C-PTSD, is a mental health condition that arises when you’ve experienced a repeat, prolonged traumatic event. Common examples of what causes C-PTSD are childhood abuse and living in active conflict.
Symptoms of C-PTSD include:
C-PTSD is different to PTSD, which normally occurs after a single traumatic event. People with C-PTSD have greater disruption around emotions, sense of self, and forming relationships.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to effectively treat C-PTSD and other mental health disorders.
Our care is centered around making you feel safe and stable before processing your trauma at a pace that works for you. We use evidence-based therapies to gradually help you understand what happened and to calm your nervous system.
We also offer wellness activities to improve your physical and mental health. Trauma is often stored in the body, and movement is an effective way to release and heal it.
Our intake is simple but thorough. We make sure that you are comfortable and informed about all processes, and we always prioritize getting you the right care.
We combine evidence-based therapies in our IOP to improve your emotion regulation, support you as you process trauma, and develop skills to live a stable, happy life.
We never template care. Your treatment really is designed for you. We conduct a thorough assessment to understand your history, your position now, and your hopes for the future. We don’t judge, we just help. We ensure that everything that your needs are always considered in your treatment, and that you recover in the right way for you.
We work with most commercial insurance providers, so your C-PTSD treatment is more likely to be covered. Contact us and we’ll carry out a verification of benefits to confirm your coverage. We’ll give you a clear financial breakdown, and let you know if there are additional expenses, so you can focus on feeling better, not finances.
Trauma doesn’t have to define you. We’re with you to help you address, process, and release what has happened. You’re worthy of feeling peace.
C-PTSD stands for Complex-Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. It’s a mental health condition that arises when you’ve experienced a repeat, prolonged traumatic event. Common examples of what causes C-PTSD are childhood abuse and living in active conflict.
C-PTSD is different to PTSD, which normally occurs after a single traumatic event. People with C-PTSD have greater disruption around emotions, sense of self, and forming relationships.
Treatment for C-PTSD integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). These gradually help you understand traumatic events and how to calm your nervous system.
Wellness activities complement clinical care, with yoga and meditation teaching grounding skills and emotion regulation.
Our IOP for C-PTSD means that you receive structured, high-quality treatment and still return home in the evening. Maintaining a consistent home, and connection to your support systems, can enhance the progress you make in care. It also contributes to a sense of independence that helps reduce C-PTSD symptoms.
Yes, we partner with the majority of commercial health insurance providers. To confirm that your provider and plan cover our IOP for C-PTSD, contact our admissions team. We’ll walk you through the verification of benefits (VOB) process and give you a full financial breakdown of care.

I am grateful for Colorado Mental Health services. My experience into the world of recovery was with much apprehension. The staff at the inpatient facility, though PHP and IOP were extremely understanding and helpful while I came to a real understanding of what addiction is and how it has affected my life.
Nothing is like Colorado Mental Health services. It was the best choice I’ve ever made regarding my addiction & recovery. Caring, professional staff (many whom are in long term recovery themselves and understand), comprehensive program, group & 1 on 1 therapy, and activities like yoga, hiking, and gym in a comfortable atmosphere in the beautiful, nature-filled Morrson/Conifer area. There 4 stage program changed my life. Detox, residential treatment, PHP, & IOP. And then there’s the excellent alumni program with tons of support through meetings, events & activities. If you’re committed to fighting an addiction, this is the place to go.
This program saved my life and every day gives me the tools and resources to make it a life I want to live. Words fall far too short of the gratitude I have for this program and everything they have done for me. So many resources, spectacular staff, refreshingly authentic care and love in this program. I’ve never felt so supported and secure and safe. From my first phone call on through to the present, it’s been nothing but exceptional. My sanctuary, my recovery cocoon and somewhere I’ll feel at home throughout my recovery journey and life. I feel confident now that my recovery and future has begun. A life of freedom and opportunity. I was hopeless, discouraged and desperate. I never have to feel that way again. Thank you COLORADO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ~ FOREVER GRATEFUL
